Corrected the part number to Milidon 81167 or the Moroso 38192 351W main stud kit.  It has been a few weeks since I opened the package to fit the 312 Y block.  Joe-JDC

Isn't that a Milodon, not Moroso, stud kit?

I have not personally fit this with a front sump pan, but from the pictures I see, it should not be any more difficult.  Joe-JDC

Great info! Would this set-up also work on a pass. car front sump pan?

There is a louvered windage tray available but it is harder to get to fit the Y.  Joe-JDChttp://forums.y-blocksforever.com/uploads/images/a16c124b-1fa9-457a-af4a-826b.jpghttp://forums.y-blocksforever.com/uploads/images/41365432-7e1c-4add-9e75-c0d3.jpg

It works best, but you may have to dent the screen a bit to contour to the oil pump pickup tubing.  That is what we did on the 345 Y that is in my '55 Thunderbird.  Not a big issue.  With the 351W bolt kit, you can set the screen up or down with the 8 nuts supplied.  Joe-JDChttp://forums.y-blocksforever.com/uploads/images/03a0967e-b70f-4ba7-8938-b4c3.jpg

Is the 20-930 the best choice for a stock stroke 292/w Tbird pan?

No, I have not brought this to Canton's attention.  I have three SBF builds going right now, and I am afraid if they find out that their windage tray can fit the Y they will raise the price.  There are at least four different SBF windage trays available and the 20-930 is the only one that fits with minimum work.  The Boss 302 windage tray definitely is not one to use.  The front sump 289/302 windage tray is too short.  The Canton 20-930 clears my 4.00" stroke crankshaft in a truck oil pan.  It clears the 312 crankshaft offset ground to 3.580" with ease.   It clears the 3.750" crankshaft in my 345 Y that was featured in Y Block Magazine.   Joe-JDC

By chance, do you show these to Canton or let them know what you are doing?

I notice pretty regular interest in a windage tray in the FB Group.  If one was available, it would sell but maybe not at a volume that would be feasible for them.

When I was measuring before building my windage tray, I realized that at least smaller stroke increases don't really change much with the rotating assy clearance requirements.  While the stroke is longer, the rod big ends are smaller and the cap bolts fit closer to the rod than the studs on oem rods.  This was convenient because I was able to use a spare 292 on a stand to work out the details and the confirm that no issues arose by installing it on the engine in the truck.

I got the windage tray screen and some 3/4" mandrel bent tubing sections for an oil pickup from Canton.  They are pretty good to deal with.
