My three on the tree was pretty sloppy so I measured the transmission shift fork rod gap at .110. Best fitting washer was .08 or so. To fill the remaining space after the cotter pin was installed  I wrapped some copper wire in there to take up the space. I haven’t tried this yet but got to thinking about threading the rod ends for a lock nut and washer so I could snug up the slop.
Any thoughts on my idea.
thanks,
Richard
