I was recently asked on the Y-Block Facebook page to post a video of the idle sound of my 1955 Tbird with the Isky 301333 camshaft. This cam is one step above the popular E4 cam.  I know many of you are like me and drive your car on the street and to cruise nights.  I hope you enjoy it.

Doesn't sound radical. I guess the 112 LSA helps. How's the power under 2500 rpm? Your gearing, no doubt, helps.

It's not radical compared to some of the cams I have had in FEs and small blocks.  It is more cam than an E4 which I feel is more "passenger car" like. Except for the extra tail pipe pop, it's fairly mild. Low end torque is good.  You can take off in 2nd gear if you like. Where this cam shows it's stuff is mid range. The pull from 2,500 to 5,000 is surprising.

I found the Y-Block Facebook page a few months ago.  It's mostly young folks with little Y-Block experience looking for advice. If things get too technical, I send them here.

To me the sound comes from the exhaust system - different mufflers with the same cam will produces a different sounds as far as I know.
