a friend has a 312 with a camshaft he hasent seen before.he doesnt think its a ford.this is whats stamped on it.88300 below that is N424 and below that is 900 on the centre of the first zero is a w..anyone have any ideas.

The numbers do not mean anything to me.  A quick measurement of the intake and exhaust lobe lifts with a micrometer or dial caliper will at least be a starting point if the camshaft is sitting outside of the engine.  Easy enough the reverse the advertised duration, the 0.050” duration, and the lobe centerline using either a cam doctor or just putting the camshaft in a block and doing an actual measurement for those values.

Maybe someone else may have a clue as to those identifying numbers.
