Federal officials plan to waive requirements that limit the amount of ethanol in gasoline during summer months as the White House looks to check high pump prices, Axios' Ben Geman writes.Driving the news: The White House said the EPA plans to allow gasoline with up to a 15% ethanol blend (E15), rather than the usual 10%.
  • Air pollution regulations restrict those sales in the summer, but White House officials say they will work to prevent problems.

15% ethanol gets less fuel economy than 10%, so we save a few pennies at the pump but burn more gallons, create more air pollution.

I don't see how rejecting Russian oil can have such a significant impact on gas prices here. I can come up with only two plausible answers: 1. Greed; 2. Oil originally meant for us is being diverted to Europe.

Regardless of the powers that be, the oil companies have always had their way.
