I got my damper back from the Damper Dudes and I marked it as Ted recommended so I will be able to quickly tell if it slips again. While it was off being repaired, I had installed the Pertronix II electronic ignition, coil, plug wires, and plugs. Today I installed it back on the car. I pumped the pedal 3 times, hit the key,,,, and zoom! It fired right up! I had reviewed all the posts/comments on timing so I was ready to adjust. It sure is nice when the timing marks are in the correct place! It runs really nice, my idle is still a bit high at 600, my vacuum is 18-19. I will play with it a little more but I like the way it runs at various RPM's. The timing advances nice and smooth both up and down. I will probably wait until I can get it out on the road before I do any more adjustments. As previously mentioned about my distributor, I did end up changing the vacuum advance unit so it is tight on the pin it attaches to. Everything else in there seemed good. Thank you to everyone for the suggestions/tip/advice!
Now I am moving on the the treadle vac, so I may have more questions. Hopefully there are a few guys knowledgeable about them, although no replies to my previous question about them.

Karps power brake service in Chino can repair/rebuild your Treadle Vac unit. He can also do the Midland units used on the early Ford passenger cars and Thunderbirds.
