I am looking at a yblock , in mid 50's car , the engine is yellow , looks like it has been changed out , is it a later truck color ?

Any idea why 56 truck engines were yellow? 55-57 Tbirds are Ford Red.

Likely to differentiate the engines because the ancillary pieces were often for trucks only...

54 Fords (cars) had a yellowish color. 55-57 had a red/orange. Beyond that I have no idea. Trucks ere different. Merc's were different.. No idea on those either.
