Has anyone recently bought SW Deluxe electric gauges? Reviews indicate that quality can be hit and miss.

My son purchased Stewart Warner Deluxe electric fuel, electric oil pressure, and electric water temp gauges last year for his 1940 Special Deluxe “C”. This included the fuel tank sender. All of them work perfectly. . .His reason for electric was h wanted to keep the engine compartment clean and neat.

Me too. No “F or E” codes before 1957. Dual quads was an over the Ford parts counter in 56 even tho Edelbrock started offering dual quad manifolds in 1954.

Some purists think it's a sin to modify these cars. Unless you have some very rare car or you want your car to sit in a museum, I don't see it that way. As you know, the left dash pod contains the stock tachometer. I didn't feel like buying a tach drive distributor, so I went with an electronic tach mounted on my steering wheel. The right hole is the clock. Who needs a clock in their car these days? I don't even wear a watch! My SW gauges were hanging under the dash on a cheap chrome bezel fifties style. I kept the original parts, so a later owner can put it back to stock if they wish. On the subject of this thread, I have personally never had a bad SW gauge in 74 years.
