Joe, the only requirement for the Y-Block shootout is that the engine has to be a Ford, Mercury, or Lincoln Y-Block. Track safety rules apply, but that is the only rule regarding engines and car bodies. We have had Y powered '65 Mustang and Pinto compete, as well as Ted's altered roadster. We also had a Y powered rear engine dragster, also a front engine dragster. Also a fiberglass bodied '56 T-Bird and a much-altered '55 T-Bird. Join us in the fun.

I have been looking for another Y Block vehicle for my 375 EMC engine, and have not been successful finding a clean body or one that is not eaten up with rust. I have a later model mustang that has rack and pinion steering, and the engine compartment is large enough for a Y block to drop in with rear sump oil pan. Is there a year cut-off you folks prefer for these events? Don't want to ruffle any feathers in the Y block community. Joe-JDC
