Reed P (9/2/2008)
Racer or Plumber....you decide Wink

I think he is keeping the secret to himself! I watched Dennis shift that pickup pretty danged accurately every pass. I think the whole time he was using the Old Ford as his work truck, he was quietly making race car shifting noises as he drove down the street! (that's what I would have been doing, anyway :coolSmile )

You know Reed, I think you hit on something there.Never gave it a thought though. I've owned the truck for 30 years and I guess you get used to the sound of the engine, when to shift etc. I don't use the tach when I'm racing, sometimes I look at it as I'm crossing the finish line.

Dave, I kept picking the right lane. I can drive around the water box better on the right hand side, and it hooked up better on the right lane for me. My best time this year was still a tenth slower than last year. I had 2 18.313's last year.

Dennis- Just curious- what did you do to get the truck down to mid-18's Saturday P.M.? It seems like you were about a second slower earlier. 239's are great! David C.

Congrats Dennis for doing such a great job representing us "street folk"! BigGrin  It's too bad I got a case of the "Lon's" and was asleep at the wheel of my car!!! Tongue

I would have loved to have gone farther in the rounds, but had some great races and a GREAT time, thanks to all the Y-Blockers. Thank you to all who put in all that effort so that we can have a great time, Bob, Harry, Barb, Jim, etc., etc. A speacial thanks to Wally, Dave, Bill & Gary for all the help with my damper issue and again thank you to ALL who participated, this group is a family that I am proud to be a part of! BigGrin

As for the Aussies, I know I pick on them, but a nicer bunch you will not find! And before Lon tells any lies, it may have been "scooter power" this year, but it is now Canada "4" Australia, a big "0"!!!! Tongue   (we have it on video to prove it!)

I love the smell of burning rubber in the morning!

Frank, I don't know what it is with you. Your car must strike terror in my heart.

Bill, Wally's a great guy.I beat him 1st round last year, this year 2nd round. So he took his $100.00 bounty off Harry Hutton and put it on me. Anybody that beats me in the 1st round next year gets the $100.00.

He's trying to put pressure on me. I'll just have to practice harder next year.
