Dennis- Just curious- what did you do to get the truck down to mid-18's Saturday P.M.? It seems like you were about a second slower earlier. 239's are great! David C.

Dave, I kept picking the right lane. I can drive around the water box better on the right hand side, and it hooked up better on the right lane for me. My best time this year was still a tenth slower than last year. I had 2 18.313's last year.

239's rule

Reed P (9/2/2008)
Racer or Plumber....you decide Wink

I think he is keeping the secret to himself! I watched Dennis shift that pickup pretty danged accurately every pass. I think the whole time he was using the Old Ford as his work truck, he was quietly making race car shifting noises as he drove down the street! (that's what I would have been doing, anyway :coolSmile )

You know Reed, I think you hit on something there.Never gave it a thought though. I've owned the truck for 30 years and I guess you get used to the sound of the engine, when to shift etc. I don't use the tach when I'm racing, sometimes I look at it as I'm crossing the finish line.
