When it finally came down to the final two, Harry Hutten and Ted Eaton were at the start line. They both broke out at the far end, but Ted broke out a little less than Harry so became the 2008 Y-Block Champ! More to follow.

Thanks for the report Jim. I'm at a family reunion and couldn't make it this year. Was Ted driving his roadster?

Ol Ford Guy (8/31/2008) Was Ted driving his roadster?Paul. You were missed this year. Sure want to see you there next year. I was in the Roadster and it performed without issue. The car made fifteen passes over the weekend with the slowest being a 9.97 et where I left at dead idle and then powered through the quarter. I had an oil pressure sending unit quit on Saturday which had the light on for three rounds before I could trace the problem but had oil pressure on the mechanical gauge and the oil filter was clean so it only bothered those that saw that glaring red light glowing vividly next to the tach (Tach is mounted outside the car behind the engine). I think my English teacher just slapped me from her grave on that sentence. That same light is hooked up to the oil filter to sense any trash that may be accumulating and when it came on, the filter was taken apart and looked at first. As I was racing in two classes, it took a few rounds to have the time to sit back and trace the problem.

Congrats Ted. I think it's harder to be consistent when your that quick. Did Billy Martin make it? and if he did, how did he do? I'm curious to hear how everyone did, and I know it was a great time for all. With the down under attendee's, and new vehicles there, I bet it was extra special. I'll have to talk to Vic Correnti and Tom Drummond, they live near me and went together.

Ted, Congratulations on a great weekend at Columbus. You earned all the praise that you will receive. I was especially impressed with the help you so unselfishly gave to Chuck and Vic and to anyone else who had questions. I hope our paths cross again.......................Charlie and Corene Burns

Wally and I stood and watched your match with Harry. When you didn't red light, I figured you had it won. Never occurred to me you would both break out! Great race, good company, and good food. Too bad it only happens once a year. Charlie, great to meet you. And as far as the help, that's how we do it. Everybody, eventually has problems, and we all try to make sure they get fixed quickly. That may be one the things that keeps us all coming back. Good luck on the East Coast timing run, chalk up another one OK? Frank
