4-5 inches in front of the oil sending unit pressure gauge sender of place for a mechanical gauge is a threaded fitting with a plug. Mine is an Allen Head. It is directly inline with the oil galley on the side of the block very close to the fuel pump. I can just barely feel a threaded hole on the front face of the block around the corner from it..... Any know what it is? Water...Oil...nothing...

Is it located in the oil galley line? There are a number of threaded, plugged holes that coincide with the side oil galley. Should be all oil.

I second that, Paul. It should be the plug for the oil galley that runs the length of the block on the driver's side.

theres 4 or 5 ina row plus a bigger one in the front.they can be hard to get out without heat.

The question is so I don’t want a tee in the line for a gauge and indicator light. I’m aware of the casting plugs and ones used in the manufacturing of the blocks. I’m currently under the engine with an oil pump problem and saw the small Allen socket plug and thought what’s this, can I use it, and have others here done something for 2 different lines…. Thanks.

I like electric gauges and have very good luck with them in other applications. Their sender is always large and I thought if the front plug was oil I could screw in a 45* fitting and have the feed from there without the weight. A metal or even those plastic lines are not a concern. That’s it..

Ok that makes sense, I do have a tee with the copper line for the oil gauge and the sender for the oil light

I used two different holes, one for the idiot light and the other for the electric oil pressure gauge. The sender does not have to be upright, can be at an angle - that is what I did with mine to get clearance..
