Why COVID?Because it’s more politically correct than saying “China Flu Special”? Actually the engine was being machined and assembled during the pandemic and the parts supply was and still is an issue. As such, just getting the engine together with the shortage of what use to be normally available parts was a daunting process in itself. There were also issues with replacement parts and tooling for the machine shop equipment of which some may not come back for the older machines. Hence the valve covers being labeled ‘Covid-19 Special’.
