Here’s a pair of ‘Customline’ lettered valve covers just received from Lindsay Shoemark (Y-Bloke) in Australia.

Seeing the thread is still alive, here's the "factory" color covers for our '54 F-100 with a 60's 292 in it. I just repainted them for the build. This is post clear coat. Don't recall how dry they were when I took the shot.

I was pretty happy with the fit and finish I got out of these original Thunderbird aluminum valve covers after restoring them. The link for a post I made on my blog (also includes quite a few pictures of the process, the Testors brand paint I used, etc). The clearcoat I used is the same clear I used on the car's sheet metal - looks to be holding up well during extreme temperatures and all.

Nice covers  and I would like to get a set but the shipping from NZ has got to be bad - plus the cost of the covers themselves
