There is a NOS AC 4421 Double-action vacuum fuel pump/w integral glass fuel filter on SF Bay Area Craigslist. The seller wants $195. Considering there have been numerous complaints about the poor quality of new fuel pumps, I thought someone might be interested.

I’d be concerned over the condition of the diaphragm with today’s fuel. It’s very possible a newer compatible one is available even from pump rebuilders. With that said, I have the same pump on my 56. There is no filter in the bottom since I have not found one. I use 1 oz. of Stabil-Marine in every fill up and have for the 9+ years I owned the car. Everything was new when I bought it bought it and the diaphragm material is unknown to me. I do have a glass AC filter leading to the carburetors and the inside of the tank is spotless.
