What about earlier versions of that engine?  Same timing chain setup?.. I thought that the chains were usually available seperately. Anyway, I believe there is or was a person on this site who was up on those engines.. Went by "RB", but I don't know how to get in touch with him?  He was also associated with Y-Block Magazine. Maybe someone else will chime in here..Good luck.

As far as i know the chain is not available separately.. You would be hoping to find someone who had old inventory like an antique auto parts house...  Have you looked closely at your chain for wear.. They are incredibly over engineered and in my experience almost never wear out..I have put on new chains and they have about the same slack as the used ones that came off..

Kanter shows a listing for one.  Only $54.31.  Egge also has them for $66.67.
