Congratulations to Tim for that 192.365 mph speed. That now makes him officially the Fastest Y-Blocker alive or otherwise. If not for the damage to the 416 car on that particular run, there was still some more speed left in the car. It was a shock seeing the damage to the 416 car caused by that piece of exhaust tubing debris at the end of his run but we were all so grateful that Tim was not hurt. It is unfortunate that piece of debris was laying in the track when it was but the car is in a position to be fixed and be raced again another day. Had that piece been noticed any earlier from the vehicle from which it came, there is the chance that it could have been removed from the racing surface. As it was, there was a four hour time span between when that piece was lost from the car from which it came and when Tim hit it. The team that lost that piece did not notice it missing it right away which explains the time frame difference. To the credit to the race team that lost that piece, they did step up and offer to pay for all the damage to Tim’s car. Kudos goes to the sportsmanship of those teams racing on the Flats. Tim is now only single digits now from making a 200 mph pass so there is light at the end of the tunnel.

The 560 car changed to an Edsel (MEL) engine a year ago. So the Worlds Fastest Y-Block record belongs solely to Timmy McMasters now. It will be interesting to see which of them is first to break 200mph. The MEL was also an often overlooked engine with great potential.
Y's guys rule! Looking for McCullouch VS57 brackets and parts. Also looking for 28 Chrysler series 72 parts. And early Hemi parts.

That is some serious speed! I’m shocked when I hit a pot hole at 60mph (100km), I’d hate to hit something at 180mph😳, scary stuff!!!
Thanks, Dennis.

Sorry to hear of your bad luck with something on the course. There was absolutely no reason for that to happen. The vehicle and person knew it was missing after their run and should have done something about it. Last year I ran over a piece of steel on El Mirage and lost a tire. Stopping a roadster or any vehicle over 150 with a shredding tire is no fun. I’m glad your ok and it looks like you can reach the number. J D
