It would be a good ideal to add a brace in the factory location to that Canton tube. Eh?

Mummert sells a stainless tube.  Many vendors sell a repro B9TE-6750-B dipstick, which works well in that tube, with a standard truck pan.

Might check with Larry's Thunderbirds for a mid block dip stick tube that fits the Thunderbird.  I got a new one for my '55.   Joe-JDC

Thanks Ted - Ken told me he was going to go that route if he could not source an original.

Using a universal oil dipstick is an option.  The Canton units I use require that the block dipstick hole be tapped to accommodate a ¼”NPT thread which I do prior to doing any engine assembly.  Here are a couple of pictures.

An engine builder a couple counties over from me here in southern Ohio called me today looking for a Y Block tube and dipstick to mount mid-block on a 292 that is going into a Model A. Let me know if you would like for me to pass along your name and phone number to him. His name is Ken Corrill in West Union, Ohio.

If you would like, send a PM to me on the forum or just use my email address - danaxjessup@yahoo.com

thanks fellas
