How do I tell if a crank is a forged 292 out of a truck? Have one that is supposed to be one but not sure how to ID it. Also any idea of what a turnable one is worth? I have someone localy looking for one and no idea what one is worth.

A cast crankshaft will have a very thin straight casting lines where it came out of the molds, whereas the forged crankshaft will have a very thick uneven line where the forging metal bulged at the parting lines from the forging process.  Joe-JDC
