AUTO-LITE was an electrical supply company (think of DELCO-REMY) until and after FOMOCO bought certain parts of in 1961.

I think the generator is off a Willy's Jeep. GJC on the mounting plate is a Jeep number and 6 11/16 space between mounting plates fits Jeep generator mount spacing . The question is was the Ozzie Jeeps 6 Volt most with GJC mounting plate were converted to 12 volt. Could this be an original early Jeep generator or were Ozzies Jeeps 6 volt? R on the dataplate indicates 1938 or 1960 10 means October Here is some more confusion I found this on Ebay It shows box as an universal early 50's Ford, Lincoln Merc https://www.ebay.ca/itm/NOS-Autolite-Generator-1949-56-Ford-52-53-Lincoln-49-55-Mercury/292275703675?hash=item440cfd4f7b:g:iOgAAOSw1pxZz97F&vxp=mtr
