I have come across an old wiper motor that I had replaced years back.  I just wanted to see if I could get it to work again it only had two wires coming out of it a green one and a black one.  Hooked it up to a power supply got ground on the motor itself and touched the positive to the black wire and got it to work.  Touching the green wire to positive does nothing nor touching it to ground.  Seems like only one speed is this correct?  My replacement motor installed on the truck now has three wires but only one speed did I install it incorrectly seems I remember the wiper motor should have two speeds any ideas?

Just a guess, but is the other wire a return to rest when the wiper is shut off?
