Where can we find the correct way to connect wires to an ignition switch in a '56 Fairlane.
Most important, what wires go on the IGN TERMINAL. Know ACC , BAT & ST
Can't find a simple wiring diagram.
Thanks in advance,
Tim in wet and soggy Florida

Are you using an aftermarket harness or a stock one?  Or neither?

The Ignition Terminal feeds Power to the Coil through Ballast Resistor if still in use or direct to + side of Coil once the Motor is running. When turned to the "Start" Position Power to the Coil comes from the Bypass from Solenoid Terminal "I". which is activated when Key is turned to Start Position. The "S" terminal comes from Start Position on Ignition Switch. a simplified Wiring Diagram is shown in Shop Manual in the Accessories Chapter.

Purchase a wiring schematic from www.ClassicCarWiring.com for less than $20.00. It is 11 x 17 laminated in color for your stock wiring. You will never be sorry.

Dry lakes. Exactly, those are the best wiring schematics for old eyes I've ever seen. Have several.

I finally gave up and bought one. The fact that it is a large print and in great resolution is super helpful. The color codes are correct too which really helped figuring out that multi pin connector from the column. If you are going to do any rewiring you need one of these!

Y's guys rule!
Looking for McCullouch VS57 brackets and parts. Also looking for 28 Chrysler series 72 parts. And early Hemi parts.
