I've been lucky enough to find myself with some free time this summer! BigGrin  With my '62 292 done, it was time to turn my attention to the old 272 in my Ranch Wagon.  Since I did the Black and Gold in the 292, I wanted to go just a bit different this time so I went with Black and Silver.  I rebuilt the carb and gutted the original oil bath air cleaner (when I got the wagon, the PO had a homemade air cleaner top with a paper element installed.  Luckliy the orignal top was in the back seat!)  It's now fitted with a K & N.  A friend powder coated the valve covers and the air cleaner with Eastwood Platinum for me.  While they were out, I cleaned up the engine and shot it with black.  I replaced the engine wire harness and installed a Pertronix ignition and coil.  Finally, when I got the powder coated parts back I dressed it all up with some repop decals from T-Bird and put it all back together.  I know it's not Ford Red but I could do it all with the engine still installed and it's easy to touch up!  Best of all, it wasn't a budget buster!!  Here's a before and after shot:
