John didn’t take deposits at the beginning of this and doesn’t take them now.  If you want heads, get your name on the list.  The aluminum cylinder head shortage stems from the unavailability of usable castings.   Even when all is good, the defect rate is high.  It’s been a couple of years now but the current shortage stems from two casting runs that had a 100% defect rate.  Then the molds had to be rebuilt.  That simply delayed head production even more.  Catching up from these two problems simply has cylinder head demand greatly outstripping the supply.

Deposit is a good idea or perhaps John needs a commitment of x quantity plus deposits.
I’m in. Maybe John is selling off the rights to anther outfit.
I hope he responds.
Thanks all

I did volunteer to pay for them up front if that would speed delivery.  I suggested he ask the other guys asking for them to kick in a 10-25% deposit.  I didn't get a reply.
