Is the power steering control valve for 1955 Ford Fairlane Victoria 272 V-8, the same as a 1956.
I'm having trouble finding one. I've been told mine cannot be rebuilt.

Thanks for the help in advance.

http://www.stangerssite.com/steeringsysteminfo.html  talk to this guy.  He seems to know more about the Ford power steering valves, pumps and cylinders than anyone I know.  He may be able to salvage your valve.

Why are they sayings its not repairable? Individual Service Parts like the Housing, Ball Stud Kit, End Cap, Spool Valve, and more are available from National Parts Depot (NPD) under the Parts available for 1955-56 Thunderbird. Its the same Valve as Passenger Cars. They also have New, not rebuilt.Power Steering Cylinders for $250.00. I would be trying another Shop before I wrote off the valve U have now.. There is also Lares Corp who rebuild these.

I rebuilt my own after having it leak twice when "professionals" did it. I bought what were called "quad" seals off E-bay. I followed the instructions in the Ford overhaul manual laying is all out on my bench piece by piece. It has not leaked in 6 years. I recently had to replace the slave cylinder because of leaking. It was machined to some "bastard" seals which could not be found. It is one of the "new" ones (no  core) and it too has performed great,

These "quad" seals were the ones Ed China replaced on a 55 T-bird under the car without removing the control valve on one of the TV segments.
