1963 F100 , 312, 3 on the tree. not sure what trans is best for daily driver. clutch is 11" 10spline. does this sound like a winning combination? and whats the consensus for best clutch? we don't plan on driving  more than 50mi/day

I've used Centerforce dual friction clutches in two of my cars with no problems.  One has been in the car over 12 years.

Without a lot of work the 3 speed is about the best for a daily driver. Anything else will require quite a bit of money and time. If the truck is stock, get a quality stock replacement clutch.

The 64 or 65 and up  V8 three speeds were first gear  syncro but I don't know if the mounting bolt pattern will fit the bellhousing.  And you may have to make some small mods to the trans.
