I'm new to Y blocks & I need some good advice from knowledgeable folks. I'm looking at buying a '55 341 Lincoln. It's mostly complete but needs a rebuild. Is it a desirable Y block or is it something to avoid being a 1 year only engine ? Are the rebuild parts easily obtainable & are there any aftermarket speed parts available for this engine ?..Thanks in advance for your advice & information..

If I understand right, it’s not the whole car, just the engine?

You should have few problems with parts - https://egge.com/kit/l341m/The trouble may be finding a re-builder/machine shop that is knowledgeable regarding this engine series.

A person who is very familiar with those Lincoln engines is Royce Brechler, who has entered one in the Engine Master's Contests. I believe he is or was on this site as RB..(?). If you write to the Editor of the following, he might also be contacted thru Y-Block Magazine @ PO Box 1005 Ottawa Ilinois 61350.
