Before I break this engine down I want to throw this out there in case anyone is needing an ECG. It is at 3.66 (.040 over) a couple of cylinders have rust, EC crank and EBU rods. $100 it is in 97415

Just for clarity, ECG is a 55-57 Dearborn 272". Possibly re done at some point with 292 pistons ?  Crank assembly is same as 292"

If you were closer, I’d be interested.  At 0.040” over, at least there’s still some cylinder wall thickness to work with.

If you are near a Fastenal store, shipping is not bad. Ipaid $300 (coast to coast) for an entire engine (taller, wider and heavier). My wild guess is$150-$200 for short block.

I paid Fastenal $200.00 for shipping a complete 292 engine with bell housing and starter, exhausts, etc.,  on a pallet from NC to TX.  Joe-JDC
