interesting topic on another site.all 56 fairlanes had the exhaust through the bumper.i think some fairlanes did have the six.some were wondering what bumper they used.must have been the lesser model one.anyone ever see one.

I'd never heard that only the Fairlanes had the trough the bumper exhaust. The most common bumper found is the plain old solid bumper and other than bumper guards or other add-.on's I don't think there were any more.

I think any Ford model in 1956 that had factory dual exhaust had the bumper with openings Carl except station wagons
