I have a 1956 Ford Crown Victoria with 292 V-8 and Fordomatic. I am planning to rewire the car using correct Ford wiring harnesses. Several years ago I bought a NOS dash wiring harness off of ebay which was described as being for a NOS 1956 Ford Passenger car with a V-8. It has a label with SX FDS 14444B taped to it on one end. I attempted to compare it to the 1956 Ford electrical manual and its very similar but with a few differences.

Can anyone identify the Ford Part Number SX FDS 14444B as being the correct dash wiring harness for my car.

Can anyone assist me with the ignition switch and light switch wiring schematic as the manual does a very poor job of identifying the correct wires and my eyesight is horrible because I am in between cararact surgeries.

Here is the problem. The ID NO you have on the harness is an Engineering PN. It has to be converted to a SERVICE PN to be able to ID the harness application in the MPC (Master Parts Catalog) (and if the PN was not dropped from the 49/59 MPC FINAL ISSUE 1964).

I believe Oldmics has the needed texts. Maybe he will see this post and chime in (I had all the info years ago but got rid of most).

Check with the shop manual reproducers.  Just a few years ago I got a manual that showed all the wire diagrams.  It was easy to read and interpret.  All colors and fittings we covered including the ignition and light switch you were asking about.  I was unable however to buy the junction boxes anywhere I looked.  I got the best ones I could find and polished them up on my cloth wheel and they looked fine.
