312 or 292 Pistons?

I friend has a new set of 1031P .060 over pistons with rings still in the box.  The Internet shows these pistons are for a 312.  Can I use these pistons in a 292 block with a 292 crank and rods?

If they are truly 312 pistons, then you would have to bore your 292 block  .110 oversize, which is a lot.  Be sure to sonic check the block before you drag out the boring bar.  The compression height will be OK if you use the 292 rods and crankshaft.

Thanks for the reply.  I spoke with my machinist and he says that's too much to bore my block.  I was able to pick up some other parts at a good price.

Its impossible to determine the amount of bore a Y-Block will take without doing a sonic check. They have a problem with core shift that is worse in some blocks. My 292 is bored to 325. If my memory is correct it was already 80 over a 312 bore. Ted just bored it enough to clean it up and then ordered pistons to match. With a stroker crank more cubes are possible. So bottom line if you want to use those pistons you may be able to but only after the sonic check. Cant be determined by eyeballing the block.
