Didn't that car just get sold at auction a while back?

Y's guys rule!
Looking for McCullouch VS57 brackets and parts. Also looking for 28 Chrysler series 72 parts. And early Hemi parts.

There is no way to tell how many of any model came with any transmission option as Ford did not keep any records other the how many of each model were built. My 56 Glass top had a 3 speed trans with out o/d.

I purchased it about two years ago from a consignment organization in the suburbs of Detroit.
Had major problems even when the engine had 484 miles on it when it arrived.
Three lifters failed, chewed up the cam and made me sick.
Got it fixed and it is purring like it should.

It amaze me that the top of the line Crown Victoria model,  came with three on the tree. Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that it is a manual with overdrive. Love to shift from first to second and let the overdrive kick in at 40 mph and then into third at 55. At 70, the tach says 1850...love it.
Enjoy your Glass Top, wonder how many of that rare piece of history are still around?

My crown glass top not only had a non-overdrive 3 speed it had 4.11 gears. I bought it from the son of the original owner, he told me his father bought it that way because he towed a boat. (The car did have a chrome frame mounted trailer hitch.)

The 4:11 rear ends came with  the 6 cylinder cars with overdrive.
Having a 4:11 in a V8 with overdrive would be a ton of fun at red lights.
