Got a leak where the Transmission Dipstick Tube screws in to the Pan. Looks like the Flare is a little flat and not sealing when tightened. Anyone used a sealing Tape , or maybe an O ring in first or anything else to seal the Pan?

Mark, look closely at the base of the flare for a crack.

Mine was impossible to stop leaking. The leak was not on the threads but the sealing to the nut so it leaked between the nut and tube. There were no cracks. I finally gave up on cleaning and tightening. I drained and cleaned everything again, applied a small amount of RTV to the outside and taped the entire connection with high voltage rubber tape up 3" on the filler tube. Then taped that with Scotch 33 electrical tape. Looks like shit but no longer leaks. Can't see it anyway.
I was a high voltage electrician at a power plant 45 yrs and knew that rubber tape applied correctly would seal and it did. When I need to service the trans again, I'll cut it off and do it again.
