Just took my 55 Crown out on its first outing. Was great night pull into town to show off our rides and went to park and someone came over and said your tyranny's leaking fluid. I said its a three speed not AT. might be power steering fluid. Yep it was the .pressure line .from the pump. My question is want to replace all of the lines. Does anyone have the part # for each lines and were would be best place to find them? This has a bone stock y block in 55 Crown Vic. Still was great night outing any night is a great night to roll with the y block!!

Most hose shops can make you new lines if you take the old ones with you so they can match up both the lengths and ends. If simply wanting to order ready-made lines, then some of the various parts suppliers do carry them. Here are a couple of links pointing you in the direction of pre-built lines. https://www.macsautoparts.com/ford_mercury_late/power-steering-pressure-line-from-pump-to-control-valve-pump-end-has-female-fitting-ford-only.html https://www.macsautoparts.com/ford_mercury_late/power-steering-return-line-from-control-valve-to-pump-pump-end-has-female-fitting-ford-only.html

I've worked with Concours Parts in Carson City Nv and Larrys T-Bird Ca. for different hoses on my power steering when I was having trouble with the control valve. Both were good to work with. I also replaced all the hoses and the rubber guild too. Good luck.

Well here is update for the murphy law. Placed my order with Mac Auto for my hose on Sunday night 5/19/2018 showed order went through on my PayPal account . I suckered for the extra amount for shipping to be expedited, the called on Monday 5/20/2018 and talked with customer service to confirm that order would be sent out so I would have before Holiday. She stated that yes order would go out and should expect it by Friday 5/27/2018. So I waited. Friday nothing, Saturday nothing, Holiday and Monday nothing. So I contacted them first they told me there was problem with PayPal. I told them the account show the order and had to be on there end. Then I called back after making sure I was correct and story changed to Oh it was on back order. I asked which story was true and they could not explain. I asked if there was any issue why would they not try to contact me there customer about problem to resolve, Again they had no answer. I explained that I was wait for part a there is a very large event coming. Now they tell me part is to ship today and expected delivery is 6/7/2018 and gave me a tracking # which I check and shows nothing yet! I could on drove and pick up part with time to spare. Has anyone had problems with Mac Auto?
I have removed bad hose, take belt off pump, should I have any issue driving this with out hose connected? Help

Macs used to be a Family run Business. Then Ecklers bought them out and You don't know who U are dealing with. Right hand doesn't co-ordinate with the Left Hand anymore.

You can probably drive OK because it is power "assist" steering. My control valv was bad when I bought my car and I drove it a week that way.. As for Macs...ditto with oldcarmark... Ecklers screwed up Macs....no more for me because there are guys out there who want to help us.

Without the pressure on the control valve, it will be loose on center. Can be driven, but be prepared for that. Been there.

I have ordered alot from Macs and only had an issue once and it was when I used Paypal. Every since then I have used a credit card when ordering from MACS. Ironically I never had a problem with paypal on any other site. One of my orders a few years ago was for the power steering hose for my 55 Victoria and it worked fine.

Another Source for Parts that I have found very useful is Rock Auto. I just ordered a whole Bunch of Parts to do My Brakes and front End Bushings as well as a Power Steering Pressure Hose that cost about half what Macs and Dennis Carpenter charge. They have a lot of name Brand Parts for Vintage Cars like ours. Excellent Prices too. What I find very good is that they show Prices in C$ as that's where I am as well as reasonable Shipping Cost and Canadian Sales Tax is charged on the Order so I do't get whacked with Sales Tax and handling Fee which the Courier Companies charge for bringing Parts into Canada. Its too bad more Companies in US don't do the same.
