I recently put on a new dual action fuel pump to get my wipers working. There are two holes between the fuel and vacuum part. Engine oil is comiing out of it once in a while. Why would it be doing this? Do i need to get another pump?

I don't have an answer, but it looks like at least one screw is loose on the pump.

That usually happens when the seal on the pump arm goes bad..

Thanks. That's a bummer cause the pump is brand new.

I had a new (or rebuilt) single action pump that was leaking oil. Thinking it had to be replaced anyway, I removed the crews at the fuel pump diaphragm. I could see that the seal had dropped out of its seat. I was able to push the seal back up into position with a screwdriver blade. That stopped the leak, so far.

Thanks Gene. I'll look into that. The pump is brand new but I've had it for a few months sitting on the shelf. Naturally I can't find the recipt so a return is out.
