I had puple hornies for a long time. I guess they made a rap. Certainly didn't pop. I had them on a 2" system and they were noisy. I then had them on a 2 1/2" system and they were loud. They sounded good on both. They were going to get me in trouble on the 2 1/2" system. Honestly, I thought they were too loud for the performance level of the truck with the 2 1/2" system but it sounded good. I like the db level of the exhaust to be a direct compliment to the performance level of the vehicle.

Not much of an issue for my truck, I already installed the Cherry Bombs. Old school, deep, & loud as H&ll, lol.

Greg D (7/13/2008) The Cherry Bombs are perforated cores as it turns out. I believe they used to be louvered or memory confused them with another, Thrushes?IDK...I can't think right off the top of my head..i would deifinitley stay away from louvered though..go perforated core.

My Uni will get Cherry Bombs (installed backwards) when the 292 goes in it. i thought cherry bombs where perforated cores??? not louvered??? maybe i'm confused..but if so...should matter which way it's installed...it's the louvered ones that'll make a difference

Unibodyguy (6/20/2008) Hey Greg,
how long of Cherry Bombs and what diameter? Just wondered. Think I'm going to do 2 1/4" that are 18" long on my Unibody 292 with modified car manifoldds.
MichaelCherry Bombs are 32" long, about 4" in diameter. How did you use the car manifolds on the drivers side?

Got a stock 272 with headers, 2 1/2 409 stainless and flow masters that dump in front of the tires. Its like a sheep in wolfs clothing. A real deap sound that will bark pretty loud at 60. It might not be for everyone but its sweet music to my ears even at $4.00 a gal

If I remember, 50s hot rodders favored one glasspack and one steelpack. Best of both worlds.
