Is this windage tray anything special or is it run of the mill?

Nothing special.  Some variation of that is in many factory pans.

iirc Jerry Christenson in a Y-Block Mag article, some years ago, suggested removing that factory oil control baffle, because it's an awful collector of dirt & sludge; He recommended installing some type of verticle oil control baffle or gate to avoid starving the pump inlet on deceleration..

I have a factory windage tray in my 289/302 Frord. There is also a factory windage tray for the FE. Anyone have anything similar for a Y Block?

I don't know what a factory 289/302 or 390 windage tray looks like but all there is from the factory for a Y is what is pictured or a slight variation of that.  I'm not even sure if that is for windage as part of the purpose of a windage tray is to allow oil to drain into the pan yet prevent it from being drawn back into the vortex created by the spinning crank.  The part pictured has no effective way for oil to be controlled in that manner and leaves the sump completely open and exposed to windage.

The Y-BLOCK oil pan pictured has an internal oil baffle so as to mainly not allow engine oil to move rearwards to flood the rear seal during hard acceleration.

I don't see how it would collect crud with today's motor oils and proper crankcase ventilation.

An FE windage tray is shown below and is sandwiched between the block and oil pan.

It's not so much today's oils as the crud left behind from yesterday's oils which could break free and cause issues.  It's very hard to clean under something like that.

Is that a factory windage tray or aftermarket?

Looks like a factory one. Aftermarket do look the same though. I ran them on my 440 race cars, and Boss 302.
Trick today is a crank scraper. But, they have to be custom fitted to the rods and crank, which takes a bit of time and patience.

...hmm... Did not think of that. I assumed would be assembled completely cleaned.

The windage tray is OEM, introduced on the 428CJ/SCJ and can be used on all FE.

I suppose the pictures are long lost now - but "once upon a time" - our mentor Ted published a nifty picture of a "crank scraper" he was using on one of his engines......... Maybe he can put it on here again.
That is another piece of the oil control pie when trying to get everything out of the engine with pretty much static bolt-on parts.
