UPDATE -- MAJOR ERROR ON MY PART

THE B6A 6049 M IS THE CORRECT PART# FOR BOTH CASTING IDENTIFICATION  OF ECG -"T" AND ECZ- "C"

DOES NOT INCLUDE THE "H" CASTING THAT I ORIGINALLY THOUGHT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The "T" could still be the Canadian cast version.

I simply missread a line. Please accept my apologys.

So back to Mummerts site for a look see at the ECZ "C" specs

Please refer to the information above regarding this post - My mistake

The casting number of ECG "T" transfers to a Part # of B6A 6042 M
Used on a bunch of different engines in 1956 .
Used on the 272 , 292 , and 312 with both stick,O.D. and FordMatic trans.

Odd that it does carry the same part number as a cylinder head with a casting of ECG - H - Also used in the 1956 production

If I was a bettin man I would think that the same specs would  apply for the "T" head as what the "H" head would be since they share the same part number of B6A 6042 M

Check Mummerts site for the specs on the "H" heads

Oldmics that is very interesting. The "H" head is a 56 power pack head is it not?
I found a stray at a friend's on a 56 car so started wondering wjat they were.

I have them as stock equipment on my 57 one ton.(Canadian)

I did originally think that the "T" head cast was for trucks. A trip to my books negated that thought.
I did then consider that it might be Canadian.
Perhaps the cast identification differences are exactly that !
The "H" head is the Power Pack head.
Its U.S. designation for the "H" head is part# B6A 6042 M while the "T" head may have been the Made in Canada version.

Check the "T" head that you have and see if it has a Walkerville or Windsor casting identification.

That would tell us whats up.

Oldmics....8.4 comp seen pretty good for a 272 head.No only that old girl had some get up and go despite the baby 94 on top.
I was actually hoping for something similar to 471 castings in compression, still looking for heads to pair up with my Jahns dome tops.
What book are you using to cross those numbers?I have a big Ford/Meteor parts manual but it just lists the parts numbers and no casting numbers.
Thanks Dave

I have a pretty good collection of that era manuals.
What I used is the 1959 MCR (Master Cross Reference)

These books are not too widely known for the amount of information they offer.

This one (just like I used) is currently on eBay.

Hope this helps.

Oldmics even if they are C heads I wonder if they are a posted equivalent. They have no front plugs. As our Canadian C heads still had plugs in 56.I am 100% positive these untouched stock pieces on engine.I will have to try and talk friend into letting me pull the single head.
