You might have better luck over on the HAMB on the 1952 to 1959 Ford social group. Plenty of guys over there who've done it.

My 56 Vicky had manual steering to begin with, my first conversion to p/s was a Gearheads Saginaw 605 box to a Ford lower sector, unbeknownst to me the 605 box is basically disposable.I shortened the stock column to make this work. Car drove worse than before. Box worn out. Next attempt was a Cavalier rack from Fat man Fab.Used previously shortened column. Drove very nice, just took 3 attempts to park in a lot. Didn't turn very sharp. Last. attempt was factory p/s ,expensive but drove like it was supposed to. Just my 2 cents.
