I recently dynoed a 406 FE and upon hooking up the water, I noticed that the Y-Block thermostat housing would bolt up.  This was handy as it allowed me to hook up the upper coolant hose to the engine without having to change it out to the larger FE size.  While this is not necessarily something hard core Y guys need to know, it’s interesting that the bolt pattern is the same between the two families of engines.  Here’s a picture.
