Are you sure it is actually broke? My '59 has all kinds of door latch issues including occasionally that one, even my drivers door has randomly done it. I'd assume it has to do more with the latches needing fresh grease and mabey de-rusting

The site works fine. 57 Ford.com was sold and 1957 Ford International bought it.

Paul 2748: yes there is a website, 1957 Ford International, however, apparently some computer program issues have occurred, related to the site being sold, which as far as I know have not been fixed. As 1957 Ford.com, originally, there was some valuable info available there, but unfortunately the forum just never seemed to work for whatever reasons?.. I'll wait & see if my friend comes up with the needed parts, before posting in classifieds. Thanks.

Isn't there a 57 Ford website where he may be able to find parts.

Maybe put a an ad here for a used unit

A friend has a 57 Custom with the driver's side inner door latch mechanism broken. The latch wheel just spins. Anyone know if those parts are available anywhere new?.  I'm thinking not likely, so is there any chance that 1956 pieces might fit?  Asking, because the 1956 latch mechanism was a new safety re design.. Info appreciated.- Thanks
