I have a 3 speed transmission with the R10 Borg Warner overdrive.  The transmission is a T86AA-1.  From what I have read this was primarily put in Jeeps.  Will this transmission work with a 292?  The number for the bellhousing that I need to use would be helpful also if anyone knows it.  Thanks for any info you can provide.

All y-block standard shift bell housing are the same, measure the bolt spacing for the transmission bolts on the bell housing and the trans you have..

The T86 was used in Fords also so it shouldn't be to difficult to put in. It does matter if its a car or truck transmission though. I have a T86 OD out of a 56 car if you need some measurements to compare.

"Will this transmission work with a 292?"

It will work with a stock or nearly stock 292 but that's about the limit. If you're in the habit of re-living a misspent youth by lighting up the tires pulling out of the Dairy Queen it won't last long.
