I found a product that actually works as advertised so I thought I would share it with you. I'm restoring my original 37 Ford coupe windshield frame and someone had broken off a tap in a blind hole that supports the windshield regulator. A lot of guys just dump these old windshield frames that crank out for the one piece sealed frames, but I think the original ones give the car character so I'm staying with it. I searched the web for ideas on how to get this broken tap out and found this product. Originally invented for the aerospace industry, it dissolves high carbon tool steel while leaving the base metal unaffected. So, if you break off a tap or drill bit in steel, aluminum, whatever, you can dissolve it with this product which comes in a kit; 3, three oz. bottles of degreaser, the acid blend and a neutralizer, a dissecting probe and a chunk of modeling clay to make a "berm" around the hole and hold the acid in place. It all worked like a charm in about 1 hour and I've included these pictures so you can see.
