I really can't afford a Ecz9425 B at this time
Is the Ecz 9425 A  not that bad of an intake.. There are a few on CL list here in SoCal at a good price
but no (B) models, but ones ones I have seen are $$$

best

You didn't tell us what engine and heads you have and what are you planning to do with the car. If you have early small port heads and just use it as a driver the A will work fine. Using a B manifold with smaller port heads isn't the best way to go. Also what distributor are you using? Only down side of A is choice of carbs unless you use adapters..

Sounds like it's from a truck. Those weren't really performance engines. I had a 63 F100 with basically the same 292. The 2bbl original carb was good enough. I don't think a 4bbl would make much difference on that engine.

Sandoc: What do you consider $$$ expensive?  In comparison, you should be able to find a good ECZ - B intake for quite a bit less than say a used Blue Thunder or Mummert intake.  Also, as noted, you will need to buy an adaptor for '57 & later carbs for an A manifold.  Unless you are really handy with carb overhauls you should likely stay away from pre 57 carbs.. .edit- Y-Block Mag classifieds issue #141, Aug/Sept 2017 a " B " intake $150 + shipping.
