Does anyone have a diagram/picture and parts list for the column mounted switch and hardware that go on my car? The one I have was scabbed on using homemade parts and a modified switch. I bought a new switch but my linkage doesn't work with the NOS switch.

Thanks for the picture. I think what happened on my 54 Monterey was a previous owner replaced the stock exhaust manifolds with newer ones which crowded the original placement of the neutral safety switch. I bought a new switch but trying to get the switch to cover both park and reverse for the back up lights is impossible. Plan B is to install proximity switches down on the linkage near the tranny, out of sight. My anal friend and mechanic has scabbed the switch to a working position but the assembly and linkage is hideous. I have threatened to post a picture of his concoction on the internet which met with immediate hostility. LOL The prox switch idea was his.

Interesting! I have the same problem. When the 292 c.i. was installed in my '54 Merc the neutral safety switch was simply moved out of the way of the exhaust manifold. I would like to see a picture of your solution but wouldn't want to cause any embarrassment.

It's not gonna happen. We rigged up the most hideous piece of shade tree engineering you have ever seen. We have given up on trying to get things lined up. Our next attempt will be proximity switches. Looking for ones with heavy enough 12v application has been the challenge.
