Trying to adjust the Hood Latch so it closes and opens without forcing it. Any Tips or suggestions on a good way to do this instead of hit and miss as I am doing now without success.

This will be kinda generic but here goes. Loosen the hood latch dowel guide (the part with the hole in it that the dowel goes into) and center it to the dowel. The dowel guide plate holes are elongated to facilitate this adjustment. The dowel itself is adjustable up or down by loosening the locknut that attaches it to the hood or core support (it's on the core support in my Merc) and screwing in or out. Yours may be down (or up) too far. Your hood bumpers may be too thick, making it hard to close or open the hood. If so screw them down more. If they're screwed down all the way and still too thick you can shave them down. Keep fiddling with it until you can close the hood without having to force it. The latch mechanism likes an occasional squirt of spray white lithium grease.

The problem I am having is I can't see where the Pin is in relation to the guide Hole in the Latch. There's not a lot of adjustment to the Latch. Maybe a 1/4 inch in any Direction. On the Ford's The "Pin" is on the Hood and Latch is the Header Panel.

Try some grease pencil or similar in and around the hole in the dowel guide then close the hood. This should show you where and how far off the misalignment is. Is your hood lined up correctly, even gap all the way around? Could be you need to adjust it to get it to latch without forcing it.

I am going to look at it again and try that. I just remembered that I didn't back off the Hood Bumpers. That might make it a little easier to get it lined up and then re-adjust the Bumpers afterwards.

Or you could just beat it into position with a BFH as it was done at the factory.
