Just getting started with this project.   I'm very happy with the 465 Holley Carb.  The automatic choke connected right up to the 57 manifold like it was made for it.  The 55 throttle linkage worked with zero modifications.  It idles perfectly, drives with no hesitation and runs great.   I love it!

I have to decide now if I should build an entirely new engine or work with the one I have.  I'm not sure what it is but I believe it has been rebuilt.  I'll know more when I pull the heads off.

I wouldn't bother just do a compression test, see what vacuum you are getting. Pull the rocker covers to see its oiling and condition, maybe pull the pan to check for sludge and the screen is clear if all is good drive on!
