Who's adapter kit do you use to do this and is it worth it, any pictures would help-- does it throw floor shifter back into the seat to far

John Mummert has the adapter. Whether or not if it's worth it depends on what you want. If you want to run a auto behind a y block then I'd say yes it's worth it. I don't know about the shifter but I don't think it would be hard to make it work with a bench seat.

Flat-O-Matic has a yblock to C4 adapter kit, but not sure he has one for a truck.

I would recommend going to the top of the page and clicking on "Articles" . There is a write up by Jeff Hallam . A C4 into a 57 Tbird. I found it helpful when I installed a C4 into a 56 f100. stuey
