New old guy here, was here under a different screen name and I can't see anything when I log in, so I changed my account.

I have a 55 Ford with a 292 that getting a little tired. One of the issues is blow by out of the road draft. I would like to create a closed loop system to prevent the smoke and gasses wafting out at stop lights.

I have a B manifold and a 500 cfm Edelbrock carb on it.  Just looking for ideas on your routing.

Thanks

The way I did mine was to use a Valley Pan from a Thunderbird which has the Draft Tube running down the back of the Engine. The Hole in the Pan is Baffled inside to prevent raw Oil from being sent out the Draft Tube. That Hole can be used for PCV  when a Grommet is used. Run the Hose to Centre of the Intake-not to the rear of Manifold. Is there a place on that Carb to plug a Hose on? If not You can drill and Tap for a Hose fitting. Running Hose to back of Engine will cause lean Fuel Mixture in back Cylinders. Remove the existing RDT and plug the Hole in the Block with either a Cover Plate or the correct Size cup type Plug. Use bolts to seal threaded Holes.

To add to what Mark posted, the T. Bird rear road draft style valley pans, were also used on some later model cars & possibly some trucks.

After you do it your engine isn't going to like it since you say it has blowby already. I installed hundreds of "smog" devices in the late 60's at a Sears automotive centers and they became the down fall and scraping of many cars. The only thing we could do was adjust the idle mixture screws and the idle to help out the customers. Make sure you add a 60's Mustang air breather cap with a hose and fitting to the air cleaner since a PVC system is a draw thru and needs filtered air. Good luck.
